“We apologize to our company but we have to proceed to get a considerate, deliberate and measured solution as we map out our return to operations in 2021,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, reported in a statement.
“Our commitment to the health and safety of our friends, crew and the communities we pay a visit to is at the forefront of our conclusions and operations.”
Carnival mentioned it is canceling cruise operations in February 2021 from Miami, Port Canveral and Galveston. The cruise line is also transferring the inaugural sailing of its Mardi Gras ship to April 24, 2021, the information release mentioned.
The cruise marketplace has been amongst all those hit most difficult by the pandemic, with the US Facilities for Ailment Command issuing a No Sail Purchase for Cruise Ships in March that banned cruising out of US ports via October.
